When Jon and I were watching HGTV’s Design Star last season, there was an absolutely brilliant designer named Dan Vickery that finished 2nd in the competition. When presented with the White Room Challenge, a challenge where each contestant is given a small white room (essentially a blank canvas for an interior designer) that had to be entirely outfitted with grocery store products and two cans of paint, Dan created the best room the judges had seen in the history of the show.  Dan explained that sophistication could be emulated with the most obscure or affordable objects IF they were arranged in small masses. In conclusion, collections can be done tastefully if we follow Mr. Vickery’s awesome example.

And if we have a ton of apples and perfectly cut firewood.
