My Real Thankful List! I’m thankful for:

1) A wonderful, supportive, encouraging, loving and for the most part healthy family! We and our families are so far from perfect, but we are grateful to have one another.  And especially grateful for our adorable niece, Gianna, nephew, Chase, and Lisa’s next baby boy-to-be!

2) A ridiculously wonderful husband. I could list his attributes for hours on end, but I think I write enough about him here that you guys have a good idea of his awesomeness. Okay, let me just note a few: 1) he loves me unconditionally for who I am (whether good or ugly) 2) he loves the Lord in a way that I will always admire and respect 3) he doesn’t make me iron for him and 4) he’s my best friend and we love being together in all aspects (sports teams, jobs, hanging out, etc).

3)  Understanding that life is meaningful even if you have just a handful of really close friends who know you intimately. With that said, I can’t express how thankful we are for some of the friendships we’ve had for the past 10 years or the past two years. We have friends who desire to delve deeply into our lives, who want to know our struggles, who aren’t afraid to ask how our time with the Lord looks like, who aren’t afraid of sacrificing their time to invest in us and be invested in by us. I know what it’s like to be abandoned by a friend and I know what it’s like to be well-loved by one. I’m thankful to have the latter.

4) Lastly, I’m thankful to be a believer and follower of Christ. I don’t always say it or share it eloquently, but above everything that you should know about who I am, you should know that both Jon and I live our lives for the Lord. If you’d like to see some beautiful testimonies from ordinary people (like you and me!) and celebrities like American Idols’ Jason Castro, Texas Rangers’ Josh Hamilton or the guitarist from KORN Brian Welch please feel free to visit the incredible I Am Second site. It could potentially be life changing =).
