I planned a good friend’s 30th birthday party (with a lot of amazing help, shout out to Molly!) last week so being involved with that event in combination with the DIY checkered backdrop I created (also with great friends Rach & Kristen) is putting my mind into serious party idea overload. Cake pedestals seem to add so much to an ordinary dessert or appetizer table and I’m in love with all the different options that are current available! I’m particularly drawn to cake stands with details like the scallop edges, pastel colors, and it absolutely needs to have a beautiful foot like cake stand numbers 2 and 4.
Which one is your favorite? Which one would you actually use to display at your house or a party? I’m trying to save my pennies for a Jeanette Zese ceramic cake pedestal. I’ll invite you to my party once I acquire it!

Don’t make me pick just one! I want them all. Oh, dear, I’m a bit worried I’m about to go on a cake stand shopping spree. Only problem is I’d have to figure out how to get them all back to the East Coast. But how perfect would these be for parties?

heck yes! i love cake stands…i have this mild obsession to try to make one or a dozen and use them for planters, but i haven’t found the time. SUCKS.

I love the last pink one. I have a covered cake stand…just a glass one you would find at the store that doubles as a punch bowl.
It’s pretty plain jane, but I like it. It makes me feel like I own my own bakery. 🙂

You know, I don’t think I’ve actually ever seen a cake stand (definitely never had one at home) which, now that I see these and have read your post, is a shame! Three and seven are my favs!

We are serving tarts and cheesecake at our wedding and I am in desperate need of some cake stands. I found some gorgeous mint milk glass ones on ebay, but these would be a great addition- I love them all!
